Hi, I am Lisa Firullo, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor(LCMHC) and have been in the field for over 20 years. I love the work that I do!
I enjoy helping others to live with joy and have more vibrant lives. My mission is to provide an opportunity for individuals to create a deeper connection with themselves and others by combining traditional approaches as well as integrative approaches such as yoga, breath work, mindfulness and nature- based interventions.
I enjoy supporting others to create the life they want, to live with more joy and reach their goals.
I have a passion for helping people overcome difficult life challenges through supportive counseling, compassion & guidance. I work with people who feel stressed, who can't turn their mind off and feel overwhelmed. I also work with people who feel depressed, sad and/or dealing with grief and loss. I work with those who have difficulty focusing or issues with organizing and getting started. I support people who are in life transitions such as a job change, relationship change or new relationship, and relocation. I also support clients to build self-worth and self -love. If there are issues around people-pleasing and identifying and asking for your own needs, I work with that too. I support people to move from stuck to thriving!
In addition to private practice, I have a background working in hospitals, universities, inpatient & outpatient substance abuse facilities, and community mental health centers. I am currently accepting new clients, adults only, ages 18 and up. I do not provide couples/marriage counseling.
I support others find more balance in their lives, increase wellness and live more vibrant lives.
Approach: I use a combination of techniques to help people grow by working through patterns, behaviors, and emotions. I incorporate a blend of conventional and alternative approaches drawing from variety of techniques depending on what will be most helpful for each client. I provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current and long-standing patterns. I tend to take an integrative approach which means I work with clients on aspects of their mind, body, social, family, career, medical, financial, and spiritual life. I may make active lifestyle recommendations such as nutrition, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, aromatherapy and journal writing. I may incorporate yoga poses and breathing exercises into sessions when appropriate. I love nature and may offer nature-based interventions that are related to your goals.
Sometimes there are physical components adding to symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression, such as vitamin deficiencies. It means that sometimes there are spiritual or energetic components that are making us emotionally or physically ill. It means that treating YOU, means treating the entirety of you, and that doesn’t mean JUST talk therapy. It means that your inner child may need support. It means that your lifestyle may be adding to your distress. It means that we are going to leave no stone unturned until you are in a place of thriving, not just surviving.
Credentials: I earned a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling & Guidance from Clemson University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. I am also a Certified Life and Leadership Coach from Accomplishment Coaching(coaching is an entirely different service). I am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with extensive training in trauma sensitive yoga, yoga for anxiety and depression. I also trained in CBT, Nature-Based Interventions, DBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, etc. I am continually learning and take regular trainings to enhance my skills.
